Harp CD
Between the Showers

Solo harp except for the title track which is a harp-guitar duet, and track 8 (harp duet with Gráinne's sister Róisín). On it you can hear O'Carolan pieces, slow airs and traditional dance tunes.

The sound samples are in realaudio format so you will need the RealAudio player to hear them. The files aren't streamed so you might have to wait until they are fully loaded before they play.

Arrangements

All tracks arranged by Gráinne Hambly, except track 5, arranged by Janet Harbison

Acknowledgements

Firstly, I wish to thank Janet Harbison, who taught me the harp. Over the years she has offered me much advice, shared her knowledge and experience, and provided me with many opportunities. I would also like to acknowledge all those musicians whose playing has influenced my style, particularly Bernie Geraghty, who taught me the concertina. Thanks also to Patrick Dalgety and Debra Salem of Green Dolphin Studios; Siobhán Ní Chonaráin and Brian McNamara for their help with the background details on tunes; the Brady family, Belfast, for their support and hospitality and Rüdiger Oppermann for his encouragement. Special thanks to John Brady, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Davey, Brendan McGlinchey and Peter Ratzenbeck for giving me permission to use their compositions. I would like most of all to thank my parents Michael and Mary, sisters Niamh and Róisín and extended family for their help, advice and encouragement at all times.

The Harp

The harp used on this recording is a nylon-strung, neo-Irish harp, made by Larry Egar of Co. Cork.
